Solar Motion Sensor Flood Light

5.00 out of 5

This is a very good solar security light. It has a daylight sensor which can be adjusted to start the light working earlier or later into the evening. The motion sensor will detect movement up to 10m away, which will trigger the light to come on for an adjustable time. With 5m of cable between the solar panel and the solar sensor light it’s easy to find the ideal location for both components.

Thanks to the motion sensor this solar sensor light acts as a fantastic security light, as any unwanted intruders sneaking within 10m of the sensor will be illuminated by the flood light. It is commonly used to light up the area near the front door, to save you fumbling with your keys in the dark whilst trying to unlock the door when returning home at night.

Most solar lights will switch on when the sun sets and stay on until the battery is depleted. Sometimes the preferred location for an LED flood light is not somewhere where it is ideal for the light to be on all night, for example outside a bedroom window. This solar security¬†light is a perfect solution for those situations as it only operates when activated by the motion sensor. Another advantage of this sensor light only working when activated is that if you had poor weather for a few days and the battery has had no chance to charge, as long as the light hasn’t been running for 4 hours, there will still be life left in the battery. Unless you plan on putting this light in a high traffic area, four hours working time is more than enough for most applications. If you require a longer working time we would recommend a light from our range other than the solar sensor light.

The lithium ion battery for the solar sensor light is built into the light itself so you need to attached the solar panel to the LED light in order to charge the battery. It has two security timer settings on the back that you can alter. It allows you to change how long the light remains active for after motion is detected (from zero up to ten minutes), and you can also alter the time of day the solar security light will begin operation of an evening. To install, simply use the provided mounting screws and secure the light and the panel via their respective brackets.

  • Panel – 6v/2w polycristalline
  • Lithium ion rechargeable battery 3.7v/2Ah working time approx 4 hrs after fully charged
  • cool white, day/night sensor
  • 64 superbright leds
  • 5m cable
  • The motion sensor is weather resistant with an adjustable working and start time and can detect movement up to 10m away.

We bought this sensor light to cover the walkway area down the side of our house. We previously had a solar motion light from Aldi there which was absolute rubbish, lasting all of about 2 months before it barely lit anything! Comparing the Aldi solar panel to this one from topfrog it’s easy to see why. The make of this light is much more sturdy. It looks and feels like it can handle being outside in the elements. The solar flood light itself is extremely bright and covers a lot of space. It was really easy to install and you can even modify the start time and how long it stays on. Good stuff!

Works as expected, providing plenty of light across the driveway in front of my garage. The sensor picks up the car just as you turn into the drive which is perfect. The solar panel and sensor light unit were easy to install and took all of an hour before i had it all set up correctly. A lot brighter than i expected too and i much prefer the white light leds opposed to the yellow tinged ones found in other older model security lights.

Very happy with this solar motion light, we have installed one outside our shed and it lights up the whole area from our back door to the shed with a nice bright light. Looks like a well built light and we really like that we could adjust the amount of time it stays on for.
